Performers:
  • Dainty Dandridge, Burlesque
Dainty organizes and participates in Chocolate City Burlesque & Cabaret and the Best of Burlesqueer, two of DC’s most fabulous showcases, highlighting performers of color and queer performers respectively. She’s been called “button cute with the mouth of a sailor” and, when asked what she’d do if science could change sexual orientation, she says “I don’t think it’s possible to be more queer than I am now, but I would sure try!”
  • Swarm, Experimental Performance Ensemble
SWARM is a Philadelphia-based contemporary performance collective that fuses dance forms and dense, percussive, melodic sound. SWARM explores a departure from the norm, simultaneoulsy encompassing expansive rock instrumentation and expressive movement. Valuing art as a fundamental form of communication, we SWARM for survival, creation and renewal.
  • Violet & Ginger, Acrobatic Duo
This Baltimore-based duo has trained together for a year, and brings a varied background of gymnastics, hand-balancing, and acrobatics. Together, they’re going to show us how a partner can help you fly.
  • Damien Luxe & Heather Acs, Multimedia High Femme Drag Performance
Joining us from NYC, Heather and Damien organize the Heels on Wheels Roadshow, which has been bringing queer femme performance art and activism to audiences across North America for four years running.
Heather is a multi-media theatre performance artist, activist, curator, educator, and high-femme troublemaker whose work has been featured in galleries and theaters across the world. Damien is an artist, organizer, repatriated expat, DIY tech geek, and working-class gone hustling-class queer femme fatale who’s been on stage for over 15 years and organizes using art for radical social change.
  • Sarah Strahorn, Musician
A massage therapist by trade and a musician by heart, Sarah’s got a special Golden Grrls song she’s going to share with us.
  • The Shondes, Band
The Shondes (rhymes with “Hondas” and Yiddish for “shames” or “disgraces”) are a rock band from Brooklyn, NY, who play Bikini Kill-meets-Bruce Springsteen-style sing-along anthems for you. The band has toured the U.S. with Against Me! and headlined U.S. and European tours.
